Period 6 Summary of Rosenthal Section 3:
arab israelis, for a long time have felt underrepresenated in the israeli government, their propsects bleak, and their civil rights constricted. they are discrimianted agianst by others in the state, people will deny them jobs, housing and other things by the mere fact that they are arabic. the palestinians want it to be a palesitnina inclusive state, but this will stop this from being a jewish state. this is somewhat unavoidable becasue of the issue of terrorism and the large number of arabs who want the jews thrown into the sea. many, however want nothing to do with the violence, but many angry people have protested and the isues of live ammo by police to stop these riots have fueld even more bitter conflict.
Xander, Supreme dictator of the world
Jake A, major in the Supreme army
Ariella F, taco stand operator of the supreme dictatorship taco stand
(and Matthew Grossman on Day 2)
Comments:
This is much like the way Suhad in section two felt. It seems sad that the Arab israelies are being treated as second class citizens because it is not helping to fix any problems it is only causing more fights. Jewish israelies have a bias against all arabs because of the terrorist attacks but it is sad because most arabs israelies are against the attacks. (group 2- Lizzy, lauren, Audrey, sam k)
Group 1:
These people are different from the people we read about because the arab israelies that we learned about really liked israel. they wanted to be israeli, so they didnt have any violent feelings towards jewish israelis, they just wanted to be treated equally. Also, we think that this sectiion was more general and our section was more personal so we got a first hand take on what it was like in general, you could always say that the arabs wanted to get rid of the jewish israelis and make israel a palesinian state, but there are always a few who like the way it is and just want everyone to be equal, and that is the kind of person we read about in our section.
